A 6" 120V IC rated remodel air-tight housing. Made from the commercial grade A welded steel, the highest quality metal available for recessed housing, this new work housing is designed to last. Being a remodel can, this housing is designed for homes where access to the ceiling joist is nor possible. If you do have access to a ceiling joist, you should consider a new work housing, which can be found here. An IC rating means that this housing can make direct contact with insulation. If you do not have insulation in your home, you should consider an Non-IC rated housing, which can be found here. The air-tight feature on this 6" housing works the save you money on energy costs by preventing heated and conditioned air from escaping through gaps like non air-tight housings do.

With quality and safety in mind, this 120V Air-Tight remodel housing features a built-in aluminum reflective shield to draw heat away from the UL Certified Medium Base socket. A built-in thermal protector will shut the light off in the case of improper bulb installation. Also included are adjustable socket plates that allow you to adjust the placement of the medium base socket to better hide the bulb from view. Bulbs
