The latest word in fire rated recessed housings, the FAHRENHEIT series is designed for both residential and commercial applications that require a L500 rating. Using galvanized steel and layers of gypsum board, the FAHRENHEIT series is capable of resisting fire damage from 1 - 2 hours depending on configuration. Certified by almost every ratings board available, the FAHRENHEIT boasts UL listings for damp locations, IC rating for insulated ceilings, Energy Star compliance, Title 24 compliance and Washington ASTM E283. Measuring 6" in opening diameter, this fire rated recessed housing is compatible with the DRD2 series of LED modules, giving you incredible energy savings, beautiful lighting and compatible with a variety of designer trims. Using pre-installed telescopic bar hangers, this fire rated housing is ready for installation in joist or suspending ceilings, perfect for new construction applications. 
Fire Rated:
The housing has been put through rigorous thermal testing and is UL Classified for One Hour Fire Rating. This makes it the perfect choice for new construction installations that require up to 120 minutes fire rating L500 floor design. Key to the fire rating is the non-combustible flexible matte insulation inside the housing. The insulation is self-extinguishing and will not promote flame spread, fuel contribution, nor smoke development in fire situations for up to 60 minutes. 
Sound Rated:
When holes are cut into ceilings to accommodate recessed lighting fixtures, the natural defenses that construction materials have against sound pollution are compromised, allowing sound to more easily travel between floors. The construction of the housing actually serves to dampen unwanted noise due to the thick internal insulation material. The sound-dampening feature makes this system a perfect choice for hotel, condominium, and apartment applications where sound transmission between floors can normally be a problem. 
Housing:
Housing is 20 gauge galvanized steel with powder coat finish. It has been designed to restore continuity of the fire-rated ceiling assemblies. Equipped with a uniquely designed non-combustible flexible matt material that has been specifically developed to provide reliable fire protection performance. 
Bar Hangers:
Our telescopic bar hanger system permits quick mounting anywhere within 16" center joists and any L500 designs. Bars are scored in two locations for fast and clean breaking allowing installation in tight locations. May be installed either perpendicular or parallel to the junction box. 
Junction Box:
Junction box with removable access plate provided with (7) 1/2" and (4) Romex® knockouts. UL Listed for through branch wiring, maximum of (8) #12 AWG 90°C branch circuit connectors (4in 4out). Integral electronic ballast or low voltage transformer depending on lamp source.

Mounting frame is fabricated from die formed, 20 gauge galvanized steel. The fully assembled frame, bar hangers and housing are ready for quick and easy mounting.
